The Standard Adult High School Diploma is a competency-based high school diploma awarded by the Minnesota Department of Education. In order to earn a Standard Adult Diploma, a student must enroll in an Adult Education program approved and trained to offer adult diploma. The program will guide and support the student as they compile and submit a portfolio of evidence that shows competency of all high school content. Students can show competency through a number of different options, including previous high school credits, HSE (GED or HiSET) tests, Adult Basic Education coursework, and relevant past experience.
