Online Statewide Training Courses

The Minnesota Department of Education is using federal adult education funds to support a fourth pilot year of Online Statewide Training Courses available to adult education students across the state. These courses are offered online and focus on a career field with training that ends in a credential (i.e., certificate, certification, license, or degree) or credit at a postsecondary institution. Some are approved as Integrated Education and Training courses.
In the 2025–26 program year, the Online Statewide Training Courses will include:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
- Paraprofessional Training
- Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
Class dates and registration windows vary—please review the resources related to each class in this shared resource document (also linked below). You will find:
- FAQs for each class (detailing credentials, IET status, criminal background considerations, etc.)
- Customizable flyers (JPG, PDF, PNG, and Canva versions available) to promote classes to your local ABE students

New Central Referral System
Starting in FY26, there is one central method for MN ABE staff to refer students to Online Statewide classes.
- Use the FY26 Online Statewide Training Courses Referral Form to review class offerings, start dates, student eligibility, and expectations.
- A tutorial is available to guide you through the referral process.
We encourage you to share these opportunities widely and to use the new referral system to ensure smooth student placement.
