What are the licensure requirements for ABE instructors?
Please see Minnesota state statute 122A.26 , which addresses this issue.
How can I get ABE licensure?
There are currently two methods of obtaining ABE licensure in Minnesota:
- The University of Minnesota offers a teacher education program leading to Adult Basic Education licensure.
- Experienced ABE teachers can apply for ABE licensure via portfolio. Visit the Minnesota Department of Education's Licensure via Portfolio page to learn more.
How long do I need to keep paper copies of student intake forms and other records?
We recommend 5 years, but make sure to check with your district and/or management to see if you have other policies in place.
