Northstar Digital Literacy Standards

The Northstar Digital Literacy Standards define the digital literacy skills necessary to transition to employment or post-secondary education or training. These include skills such as using email, navigating the internet, and basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

The Northstar standards were developed here in Minnesota as part of a collaborative project between ABE, the library system and other partners. The Northstar standards and the Northstar assessments are now available worldwide on the internet, and are being used in adult education programs and other systems across the country.
